Verse 1
               G
Where does the light go
                      C
When the candle burns out?
                     G
Does it dance on the water
                 D
From an old lighthouse?
                     G
Does it move through fireflies
            C
Into thunderclouds?
               G D
Where does the light go
                      G
When the candle burns out?
Verse 2
               G
Where does the light go?
                   C
When the fire dies down?
               G
Does it rise into the sun
                    D
Or hide beneath the ground?
                G
Does it blaze another trail
           C
To another town?
               G D
Where does the light go
                   G
When the fire dies down?
Chorus
              Em
'Cause if you close eyes
G/B C
   After looking at the light
      G
It’ll shine in your mind
      Bm7
It’ll shine in your mind
       Em
Like a lantern for the dark
G/B C
You can carry in your heart
       G/D
Let it shine in your mind
       D D
Let it shine in your mind
Verse 3
              G
Where did the light go
                   C
On the day that He died?
         G
It ran into a grave
                D
And down Mary’s eyes
                    G/B
It stayed there for three days
               C
In the darkest night
          G/D D
It opened heaven’s door
                   G
And said come on inside
REPEAT CHORUS
Verse 4
               G
Where does the light go
                      C
When we take our last breath?
                      G
Does it float out the window
              D
Onto heaven’s steps?
                  G/B
Will the Sun say “Welcome home
                    C
It’s like you never left”
               G/D D
Where does the light go
               C G
Where does the light go
